The Senior Sales Engineer is responsible for supporting Sales in acquiring new business and growing share of wallet for current customers within an assigned region. You will have knowledge and experience across multiple Public Cloud offerings in terms of Infrastructure, Automation, Orchestration and knowledge around DevOps practices and platforms. The Sales Engineer will be the technical quarterback assisting and driving technical requirements throughout sales cycle including discovery and definition of customer requirements and delivering from, conversation, demonstration, assessment and through proof of concept on solutions. Additional experience of delivering IT tools, infrastructure and methodologies used within an enterprise IT environment as well as scripting and/or software development are desirable.

CloudBolt is a software platform that enables enterprises to build, deploy, and manage their hybrid cloud. Our platform empowers IT with the ability to leverage existing investments in private datacenter technology in conjunction with public cloud providers to provide cost optimization and control spending while maintaining the flexibility and agility that has become the cornerstone of cloud computing.

The Senior Sales Engineer will report to the VP of Sales Engineering but will also have direct communication and technical oversight of all deals within the assigned region with aligned regional Director or AVP.

Responsibilities

Pre-Sales (60%)

  • Define, at an architectural and design level of detail, technical solutions aligned with our client’s business problems
  • Communicate complex technical solutions to prospect and clients
  • Assist the Account Executives (in region) with scoping complex service engagements typically involving DevOps automation, Cloud Orchestration, and Product Extensions
  • Work with existing clients on developing technical solutions that may be delivered by CloudBolt and Partner Professional Services teams

Research & Skills Development (20%) 

  • Maintain expert knowledge of the CloudBolt platforms
  • Maintain current knowledge via internal webinars, case study, training, documentation etc
  • Answer CloudBolt Community questions
  • Perform research into technology partner or other vendor solutions in context of client requirements for integration

Partner\Community (20%) 

  • Engage with CloudBolt partner community and represent thought leadership in training and developing partners throughout region
  • Perform research into technology partner or other vendor solutions in context of client requirements for integration

Qualifications 

We need someone who has:

  • Experience in a Sales environment
  • Is self-motivated/self-directed – capable of multitasking
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Business analysis and requirements gathering abilities
  • The ability to learn technology quickly through instruction and self-training
  • The ability to travel up to 50% of the time
  • You will have regular contact with customers both on-site, on calls and through a web conference

Requirements: 

  • Hands on with a Cloud Management Platform (CloudBolt, vRA, automation tools) 2+ years
  • DevOps, CI/CD pipeline, SSO, REST, LDAP, Python, Jenkins, Docker (Containers\Kubernetes)
  • AWS\Azure\GCP storage, compute, network +
  • Scripting (Python, PowerShell/Django/Bash): 2+ years
  • Datacenter/IT Automation: 2+ years
  • Public cloud knowledge (AWS, Azure, GCP) 2+ years
  • Sales Engineering: 3+ years
  • Experience with an IaC platform (Terraform, Ansible, Salt, etc)

Additional Valuable Working Knowledge Experience: 

  • Configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.)
  • Linux\Unix and Windows administration, Lamp Stack
  • Cloud\Infrastructure Orchestration & Automation
  • DNS/IPAM/Active Directory
