This is a fully remote opportunity and reports to the Accounting Manager.

The salary range for this role is $94,500 – $123,500.

THE CHALLENGE

As a Senior Accountant at Truss, you will support day-to-day accounting operations, including supporting financial planning and analysis, accounts receivable, accounts payable, running payroll, and timely and accurate completion of the month end close process. This role will also help manage external resources and third party vendors.

Truss is seeking a Senior Accountant who has a creative and collaborative approach to problem-solving, is highly adaptive and comfortable with ambiguity, and also able to create flexible yet effective structure and processes to support a high-growth organization. This role will work cross-functionally to help implement processes, ensure accuracy, and help scale our growing finance team.

THE TEAM

The Senior Accountant will join our Finance team supporting a fully remote organization of 150+ employees across multiple states. The position will work cross-functionally with Staffing, People and Culture, IT, Sales, C-Suite, and also field requests and inquiries from all employees as needed. The ideal candidate is adept at managing multiple priorities and deadlines at once but also a proactive communicator and a team player: able to speak up and ask for assistance and/or jump in and lend a hand as needed.

THE SKILLSET

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA preferred
    • 4+ years relevant accounting experience, preferably in public accounting
    • Experience managing monthly close activities, A/P, and A/R
    • Strong understanding of US GAAP accrual-based accounting
    • Familiarity with government contracting accounting requirements preferred
    • Experience supporting audit and tax requests
    • Multi-state, domestic payroll administration preferred
    • Experience supporting financial planning and analysis within a high-growth organization preferred
    • Enjoys working in a dynamic, fast paced environment
    • Proactive communicator
    • Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills
    • High proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Excel, and Google Sheets, Slack, Zoom, G Suite
    • Experience with bill.com, Expensify, and Paylocity is a plus

Within 1 month you will…

familiarize yourself with the company, and the Finance team

be trained on our tools and systems and get familiar with accounting work files

have a clear learning plan and proactively participate in training

Within 3 months you will…

understand monthly routine and priorities, and perform tasks associated with month end close

support biweekly payroll preparation

support the A/R and A/P processes

manage the accounting mailbox and Slack channels

Within 6 months you will…

be comfortable performing month-end close independently and reviewing others’ work

support quarterly and year-end processes, including audit and tax document requests

prepare the biweekly payrolls for review

manage A/R and A/P processes

utilize various accounting tools and worksheets to work on ad-hoc analytical projects
