About this Position

Job Title: Payroll Manager, EMEA

Location: UK / Netherlands 

This role is open to both UK and Netherlands candidates and reports to Senior Manager, Global Payroll based in our San Francisco, United States headquarters. This position is currently remote until further notice.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the accurate and timely execution of monthly payroll processing for 400+ employees in 14 countries including but not limited to base pay, commission, equity plans, payroll taxes, statutory and supplemental benefits, pension schemes, cross-border employees’ payroll, and tax compliance, etc.
  • Actively partner with the global HR, Payroll, and Finance teams to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with statutory regulations, company policies, and internal controls.
  • Manage partnerships with payroll providers to ensure consistent quality payroll deliverables, including timely and accurate resolutions to complex payroll and tax cases involving income tax, social security contributions, pension schemes and equity-base tax reporting.
  • Mentor and develop Payroll Specialist, set goals and objectives, and drive the execution and completion of team goals.
  • Ensure timely review of payroll reports, data validation and resolving discrepancies within tight deadlines.
  • Provides high value customer service to various stakeholders and employees.
  • Timely reply to tax notices, wage orders, unemployment benefit claims, government correspondence, and verification of employment.
  • Process benefits and equity-base transactions in accordance with reporting requirements of each country.
  • Coordinate with Benefits Department and 3rd party providers to ensure group health insurance, group life, disability and accident insurance are accurately recorded in Employee Earnings Statement and the Employers’ Returns.
  • Support company-wide initiatives, including monthly, year-end close, year-round audits, and other reporting activities.
  • Ad hoc projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Required Skills:

  • 7+ years of multi-country EMEA payroll management experience in UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Belgium, Israel, and the Middle East regions.
  • Expertise in payroll tax reporting, including benefits, equity, and pension scheme reporting.
  • Experience building and scaling internal infrastructure, systems integration, and processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and ensure team consistently meets deadlines and delivers accurate results.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Cross-functional leadership, process improvement mindset and results driven.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Experience with payroll software platforms including but not limited to Workday, Oracle EBS, MS Office.
  • BS degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Business, Finance or Human Resources.
  • Intermediate Excel (v-lookup, pivot table) and strong analytical skills
