Overview

Summary:

The Manager, Sales Development Representatives is responsible for leading the team of Sales Development Representatives. As the team lead, the Manager is responsible for attaining and exceeding department level revenue and strategic objectives. Responsibilities include developing processes & providing training and support to the Sales Development team; recruiting, hiring, training, managing and developing Sales Development team; collaboration with field sales and other managers in the successful execution of cross-departmental projects; providing feedback and analysis to Inside Sales leadership to assist executive decisions. The Manager’s team is responsible for lead generation, sales quote generation, assisting field sales staff with pre-sales activities, and handling the entire sales process for service contracts.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership to all Sales Development Representatives. Support and inspire the Sales Development Team to generate leads, sell service contracts, generate quotes, and provide support to the Global Sales Team.
• Develops processes, systems and tools to optimize lead generation, sales quote generation, and service contract sales.
• Facilitate new processes, tools, communication, training and methodologies to ensure successful quota achievements.
• Monitor and track Sales Development Representatives’ individual performance, strengths and areas of opportunity. Provide feedback and coaching for team and individual developmental opportunities.
• Interface with various groups within Nanostring to help improve the overall sales process as well as drive the initial stage of the sales funnel. Develop methodologies which optimize processes to achieve sales and market share objectives.
• Responsible for Talent Development through implementation of training plans with employees to ensure they have the necessary expertise to successfully perform their jobs, provide ongoing guidance to employees, and career counseling to help employees develop and advance in their careers.
• Performs other duties as assigned. All listed tasks and responsibilities are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional tasks and responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in the life science industry.
  • 2+ years sales experience in life science industry
  • 3+ years of experience in life sciences business, operational or marketing processes Proven success with facilitating training to a global team Strong experience with prospecting, lead generation/qualification, and customer/prospect follow-up
  • Understanding of genomics, sequencing, molecular biology products and services Strong interpersonal skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills required Experience with representing team as stakeholder in processes involving multiple departments
  • Proficient in using social media tools, CRM/ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a science/technical or business field required. Genetics, microbiology

Preferred Qualifications:

• A related degree strongly preferred.
