Growth Product Manager, Solar

We are looking for a Product Manager to join our team and drive the product growth strategy for our solar business line. Your success is measured by growth of our active solar contractor network and solar originations. The Growth Product domain includes the end-to-end funnel from acquisition, to retention, to expansion; and across all solar customer segments and software and customer experiences. The Solar Growth product team is the intersection of product management and product marketing; you will be partnering with both teams to focus on product-market fit, pricing strategy, and user experience to optimize conversion. You have experience in the renewables space, a strong interest in solar, and are continually assessing new growth opportunities for Mosaic alongside the Growth PM lead for your vertical. You love thinking through problems big and small – from a quick process improvement to improve pull-through to rethinking a business model for a new segment of the solar market.

We’re looking for a product manager who is/has:

You have a strong data-backed perspective on building durable competitive advantage and have the analytical skills to support a business case and understand the importance of opportunities relative to one another.
  • Creative, yet structured. You are creative in your problem solving and often come up with the win-win-wins. You come up with ideas (big and small) and are also skilled in prioritizing and executing these ideas. You have project management skill sets and believe ideas are only as valuable as their execution.

You have a basic understanding of the residential solar space, and are interested in becoming an expert.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support the Solar Growth PM lead in executing business growth strategies, particularly with opportunity sizing and post-implementation KPI management
  • Assist Solar Growth PM lead with appropriately sizing, analyzing, and prioritizing opportunities, and with preparing business cases. Provide input on appropriate prioritization of initiatives within solar product roadmap based on expected impact (both on volume and contribution margin).
  • Partner with the Solar Growth PM lead and other cross-functional team members on pricing strategy for our solar financial products, and define requirements and assist with go-to-market strategy for new financial products
  • Develop expertise of our customers, sales channels, competitive landscape, and offering to create strategies for driving acquisition, conversion & retention
  • Participate in customer research efforts in partnership with marketing and sales; turn these research findings into insights and action
  • Partner with marketing to define the go-to-market strategy for our solar products and features

What you bring to the team 

  • 5+ years of professional experience, ideally in product management, finance, business development, or consulting roles
  • Knowledge of consumer finance products and pricing strategies, and ability to build basic cash flow models
  • Bachelor’s in engineering, finance, or economics required
  • Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to set and achieve goals
  • Experience in end-to-end product development from conceptualizing, building, shipping, and scaling products preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with marketing and creative teams
  • Work with joy and drive for excellence, which are two important cultural values of the Product team
