Our Marketing team is the voice of our University partner online programs. This is a team of creatives, storytellers and problem-solvers who are champions of the University, its brand, and their students.

As the voice of our University partners and our prospective students, the Marketing Director is responsible for developing and executing marketing programs generate leads that translate into highly-qualified students for your assigned University partner programs.

As the Director of Marketing you will build content marketing strategies from the ground up and lead content efforts across a subset of University partners and programs. You will establish strong content foundations for our programs, that our cross functional teams will help bring to life through tactical execution. You will work in partnership with a team of SMEs and stakeholders, including SEO experts, copywriters, and internal partner stakeholders, to bring bespoke program differentors and brand affinity to life online. As an approachable, hands-on, accountable leader you will build strong relationships internally and externally, collaborating with key stakeholders and creative partners. You will report to the VP Partner marketing and work alongside critical stakeholders.

This role is located in the Chicago, IL.


  • Lead the marketing team in developing consumer-insight driven brand and marketing strategies, brand positioning and go-to-market campaigns for assigned University partner programs.
  • Craft content strategies that differentiate our graduate degree programs from competitors, account for shifting trends in demand, engage students when they land on our digital properties, and convert them into leads and students.
  • Plan and successfully execute integrated, multi-channel marketing plans for our University partner programs with focus on awareness building, lead generation and conversion across lead touchpoints from online and offline advertising, website, social, email marketing and more.
  • Manage marketing-related client interactions to ensure appropriate expectations are set and approval timelines are met, marketing assets are accurate, and university partner programs hit enrollment goals.
  • Bringing excellence in thought leadership around content development, engagement practices, measurement and process, including the launch of gated content to improve campaign efficacy, expand lead generation efforts, and build link opportunities.
  • Utilize strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points, measuring efficacy of tactics and quickly pivoting towards high-performance opportunities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, advertising or a related field required
  • 8 to 10 years of well-rounded marketing and strategy experience, with a demonstrated focus on digital & analytical marketing, content development, and SEO
  •  2+ years managing direct reports
  •  Full vaccination – as defined by the CDC – is required

Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)

  • A mixture of digital, lifecycle, loyalty, and/or omnichannel marketing experience.
  • High degree of data-savviness – able to craft narratives and back them up using data, as well as market size new opportunities.
  • Experience in channels that are critical to a successful content strategy, including but not limited to video, email, affiliate, SEO, influence, third party publisher partnerships.
  • A creative spirit, creative judgement, and an innate curiosity, a willingness to craft structure from ambiguity, and a keen understand on the role of the role data plays in content marketing.
  • High degree of confidence in leading project teams in a matrix environment, communicating across functional teams, including working with creative, analytics, and digital.
  • Expert-level communication skills & executive presence, with the ability to engage the enterprise across multiple specializations with analytically-backed, compelling stories.
  • Significant experience managing cross-functional partners.
  • Highly organized with experience managing against timelines.
  • Experience with consumer lead generation and conversion activities.
