Job Overview:

Edquity is seeking an experienced Data Engineer who is passionate about enhancing financial stability and social mobility in higher education and improving college graduation rates for low and middle-income students.

The Data Engineer will participate in the ingression, management, and storage of data. As a Data Engineer, you should be an expert with data warehousing components (e.g. Data Modeling, ETL, and Reporting) and integrations. You should have a deep understanding of the architecture for enterprise-level data warehouse solutions using multiple platforms (RDBMS, Columnar, Cloud). You should be an expert in the design, creation, and management of large datasets, and have excellent business and communication skills. The Data Engineer should work towards a vision beyond the daily tasks with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and appreciate autonomous responsibility.

What you will do:

  • Design and develop scalable data models where highly complex data relationships exist
  • Architect and maintain highly automated and scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines
  • Provision, optimize, and maintain data feeds to external systems
  • Create visualization and reporting as needed
  • Creating well written technical documentation
  • Designs new functionality in our existing components for the team to leverage
  • Evangelize best practices around data and team processes

What you should have:

  • Experience writing SQL and Python, solving complex data problems, good data modeling, as well as building automated data pipelines
  • Be a quick learner, self-starting, and have the ability to maintain and build within a horizontal and vertical scaling data system
  • Expert at writing and optimizing SQL scripts
  • Solid working knowledge of relational database platforms and cloud database platforms
  • Experience with cloud data environments
  • Experience scaling data architecture
  • Experience integrating external data sources via API

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this position has been benchmarked in relation to the scope of the role, market rate, company stage, and internal equity. The salary for this role will be between $160,000 – $180,000. Where a candidate falls within the band is determined by skillset, experience level, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role will come with a total compensation package that includes equity shares and competitive benefits. Some of our benefits include:
