The Senior Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, automating and deploying production-grade services on behalf of the customers to various clouds such as AWS, Azure and GCP.  The Senior Cloud Engineer works closely with the Cloud Architect and Solution Architect to ensure the pattern meets the project’s deliverable needs while maintaining high quality and operational maturity standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Build an end to end complex and highly available cloud architecture using infrastructure as code best practices
  • Work closely with solution architects and cloud architects and implement technical solutions that meet business needs
  • Provide Level 3 Technical support to internal teams, Customers and Partners
  • Build and deploy CI/CD pipelines that suit client implementations
  • Build automation around deploying a Smile CDR
  • Lead and educate clients on cloud deployment patterns
  • Investigate and resolve any customers integration issues that arise during implementation
  • Design procedure for system troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Perform root cause analysis for any implementation errors
  • Provide feedback to the Core dev team
  • Design procedure for system troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Document best practices and lessons learned
  • Design, implement and maintain a secure and scalable infrastructure platform.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide L3 support, incident management, and troubleshooting
  • Provide ongoing maintenance and support of internal tools, improve system health and reliability

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in Information technology, with infrastructure and platform services automation expertise
  • 2+ years Kubernetes, Openshift, Docker
  • 2+ years of experience with engineering and supporting containerization technology
  • 2+ years of experience with CI/CD tooling and best practices
  • Proficient in Ansible, Terraform or Chef
  • Proven experience with Kafka, Active MQ, Elastic stack is essential
  • Expert in building end-to-end cloud solutions using low-level architecture documents
  • Advance understanding of cloud and on-premise network integration
  • Strong knowledge of foundational elements of public cloud (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud)
  • Experience in configuration management, code deployment, and automated tasks
  • Setup centralized log collection, monitoring, vulnerabilities patching, security audits
  • Experience in creating secured cloud infra for Staging, Development and Production environments in the major clouds
  • Proficiency in networking and network security concepts
  • Deep knowledge of native cloud service providers
  • Best practices around implementation and configuration, preferably managing customer environments
  • Able to prioritize and track multiple projects in parallel

What you will need to succeed:

  • Experience with Infrastructure as code tools such as Ansible, Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Proactive approach to identifying technical risk and communicating it to the SA
  • Good knowledge of Java Applications
  • Good understanding of APIs, TLS, HTTP & DNS
  • Experience working with Postgre, MS SQL, SQL, Lucene and MongoDB
  • Good knowledge of LDAP, OPEN ID, SAML, Certificates, Troubleshooting security
  • Experience in Monitoring tools and Ticketing tools like Jira, DataDog, Prometheus and Grafana
  • Experience in System performance monitoring & optimization
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python) to automate routine operational tasks
