Overview

Computers are the most powerful tools to exist in the history of humanity. Today, only a relative few—professional software developers—can use this superpower to its fullest extent. This has created an unbalanced world where there are only programmers and those who consume their programs. Replit wants to change that dynamic by bringing the next billion software creators online.

We’re hiring our first Web & Content Designer to shape how Replit represents itself to the public. This is our first design hire outside of the core product, so this is role will have an outsize opportunity to define how Replit is represented at a massive scale.

As a Web & Content Designer, you will:

    • Own the design and experience of our primary public surfaces. The main focus will be our public landing pages (e.g. replit.comreplit.com/site/teams-pro) as well as our blog and technology or event sites (e.g. replit.com/site/kajamreplit.com/site/kaboom)
    • Work closely with the marketing and growth teams to test and understand the efficacy of those surfaces. You’ll be the owner of whether these surfaces are succeeding — setting and understanding what the goals are and how to measure them, what user journeys these surfaces should funnel into, how they’re performing, and how to test & improve them.
    • Work with the marketing and growth teams to create production processes for updating content on our web surfaces easily and quickly.
    • Collaborate with product teams to understand the core features and usage of Replit, and understand where to funnel users into the product from our public surfaces.
    • Collaborate with product design teams to ensure our brand is experienced consistently, from top-of-funnel all the way through the product experience.
    • Create, maintain, and evolve guidelines and direction for how our brand is consistently represented across different surfaces.
    • Additionally, you may contribute design work to other surfaces such as social media channels, physical merch, print materials, and marketing campaigns.

You qualify if:

    • You have a portfolio that displays your skills and attention to detail in web, visual & communication design.
    • You have experience designing responsive, accessible, beautiful websites.
    • You are a clear communicator and storyteller.
    • You are excited about collaborating with other designers, engineers, marketers, and product managers.
    • You are resourceful: We’re a lean, efficient startup where you won’t find heavy-handed management. You need to be able to come up with your own goals and know how to balance velocity and quality.

Even better if:

    • You have front-end programming experience and can implement your designs.
    • You have experience designing for technical concepts or tools.
