About the Role

At Global Scaled Solutions (GSS), we enable Uber’s core product, engineering and operations teams to achieve growth and scale at pace. We do this by setting up and running scaled programs and initiatives by leveraging our extensive network of external service delivery partners!

As a Sr Program Manager, Tech for QA in GSS, you will be responsible for building, implementing and optimizing global QA processes, support for different products and teams. You will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, TPM &, and community operations teams. This role is based in Sunnyvale, CA but you will be working with teams around the world!

What the Candidate Will Do:

  • Facilitate and drive high-impact initiatives to improve process quality and the customer experience
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders cross-functionally for scoping and prioritizing project activities based on the business impact and team OKRs
  • Scope and lead special projects in Testing – e.g., identification of test coverage, streamlining release notes process, early involvement model of testing as well as triage
  • Scope and lead special projects to double down on Eng root cause fixes for incidents
  • Ensure tight integration between testing, release and bugs management processes
  • Provide in-country / in-time-zone support in the US for India/offshore based Testing and Bugs Mgmt team members, on a need basis as determined by these teams

Basic Qualifications:

This role requires operational excellence, Technology proficiency, and experience with handling global processes, leveraging vendor partners or third-party contractors/consultants.

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, business or another technical field, MBA (preferred)
  • Able to adapt to ambiguous & fast-changing environments and business needs
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience leading cross-functional global projects, stakeholders and actionable insights
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and able to communicate optimally with both technical and non-technical individuals
  • Demonstrated success in using data to make customer and product-focused decisions
  • Ability to go deep into issues and challenges, understand underlying technical and functional aspects, and drive towards suitable solutions collaboratively – in the context of testing and bugs management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated with a strong affinity for vision setting, strategic problem solving, and driving action
  • Experience with process design and optimization, program management, customer support strategies, and quality assurance
  • Exposure to QA and the bug management lifecycle in a product organization will be a phenomenal addition (alternately, ability to quickly learn about new domains and processes is important)
  • Willing to explore and learn new technologies, hybrid processes
