The Role
Our psychiatric RN provides triage for mental health patients involved in psychiatric care allowing the clinician to work directly with the patient in an appointment and the RN to support patient needs in between appointments. The psychiatric RN will collaborate with psychiatric clinicians to provide patient centered, safe, effective care. The psychiatric RN is responsible to triage patient needs and provide direct clinical support for patients and our psychiatric clinicians. They provide clinical support with tasks such as assessing patients, processing medication refills, ordering lab work, patient education, assisting with prior authorizations, communicating directly with patients and supporting their clinical requests. They provide patient education and support for telehealth visits. They work collaboratively with various departments within Path and the community to support patient care. A psychiatric nurse will be involved in co-creating evidence based protocols and workflows, and standing orders. A psychiatric nurse is responsible to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and supervise the nursing care of psychiatric patients between visits.

Qualifications
Must-Haves
- 2 years of experience working in an outpatient mental health setting within the last 4 years
- 2 years of staff supervisory or leadership/management experience with a health care team
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a Bachelor’s of Science Nursing Degree (BSN).
- Active RN CA license
- Experience in mental health crisis triage
- Capable of prioritizing work according to clinical necessity
- Willing to work 5 days a week (no 12 or 10 hr shifts)
- Strong operational knowledge with interest and experience in developing and implementing workflows, work standards
Preferred
- Degrees:
- RN professional certification, including but not limited to an RN ANCC Certification in Mental Health Nursing
- Experience in an outpatient mental health setting
- Experience supporting a wide range of providers and their patients
- Experience working in a telehealth environment
