About this Role:

By design, partnerships are an essential part of Swiftly’s strategy. Rather than attempting to build every possible new product feature, we make deliberate choices to instead identify other established technology solutions in the industry that have clear synergy with our core offerings. This strategy has obvious strengths: it allows us to stay focused on what we are good at, it can accelerate our growth with referrals, and it can create a better customer experience than we could ever offer on our own.

But partnerships also can come with their own unique challenges in regards to relationship management, process alignment, and navigation of potential competing interests. Swiftly’s first ever Partnerships Associate will play a vital role in mitigating these challenges to make our partnerships actually work. Whether the goal is to collaborate on a new business opportunity, drive referrals, enable product integration, or establish smooth operations among internal teams trying to implement and support customers, this person will be focused on making sure that the entire Swiftly team can thrive. Most importantly, this person must be able to always think critically about how behind-the-scenes decisions will ultimately impact our customer experience.

The Partnership Associate will be focused on solidifying and evolving our relationships and process with partners such as hardware suppliers, installers, mobile applications, and industry consultants. They’ll be the internal subject matter expert for any questions pertaining to our partner operations with certain partners, and also the face of Swiftly to each of them.

Even though Swiftly’s HQ office is located in San Francisco, CA, we are open to candidates in all locations across the U.S. as well as Ontario, Canada. At this time we are unable to provide Visa sponsorship. #LI-Remote

About You:

    • 2-3 years of experience working in a strategic role in the transit technology industry, OR highly strategic technology partnership experience
    • Familiarity with hardware procurement, government contracting, and RFP response coordination
    • Familiarity with non-disclosure agreements, referral and reseller agreements, and other kinds of B2B partnership arrangements
    • You love a fast-paced environment, can iterate quickly, and are comfortable diving into all-new kinds of projects.
    • You love the “startup mentality” –which comes with the ability to take ownership of new processes, be empowered with the autonomy to drive your own projects, and build new and exciting operations for the team.
    • You’re comfortable sometimes “diving into the unknown”, sharing learnings and iterating as you go.

    • You are passionate about mobility, sustainability, or mission-oriented projects that have a significant real-world impact.

What You’ll do:

    • Partner Relationship Management. This person will develop and maintain relationships both internally and externally at Swiftly. As Partnerships Associate, they must be able to rally a range of stakeholders around common goals and process changes, and by extension must have strong relationships to stand on, built upon a foundation of understanding of various goals, restraints, and working capacity of various external organizations.
    • Written and Oral Communication. This person must be an adept communicator, capable of independently setting plans of when, how, and to whom updates must be communicated. They must also be skilled at communicating both directives of what others must do, as well as updates about what they and others have done. They must be able to influence with diplomacy, intuit personal and relational sensitivities around communications, and express empathy and understanding. The ideal candidate will be a superb written and oral communicator, able to communicate complex ideas clearly and with desired tone (which may be friendly and/or firm depending on context).
    • Process Iteration. This person must be vigilant about identifying and all areas for possible improvement in Swiftly’s processes regarding our industry partners. This could include everything from external communication protocols, the order of operations in an order placement process, the optimal billing timing, or the terms of a legal agreement.
    • Creative Problem Solving. This person must display creative intuition for conflict resolution, gray areas, competitive concerns, or other potentially detrimental happenings with our partners.
    • Organization. This person will manage potentially dozens of different unique operational functions at Swiftly, being the subject matter expert on a range of different partnerships and how to navigate them. Each of these partnerships will involve a multitude of ever-changing tasks as business conditions (e.g. new products, hiring changes, new deal opportunities, etc) and priorities evolve at Swiftly and with our partners. As such, this person must be extremely well-organized to minimize the chance of tasks falling through the cracks.
    • Passion for transit technology. Swiftly prides itself on bringing a mix of veteran transit industry professionals, as well as budding transit enthusiasts. It is strongly preferred to have prior transit industry experience. Beyond experience, it is necessary for this person to be interested in developing a career within the transit industry and becoming a deep subject matter expert on the transit technology landscape, with particular focus of on-vehicle hardware.
    • Interest in business processes and contracts. The Partnerships Associate will  be expected to become an expert in all aspects of industry partnerships at Swiftly, including their contractual underpinnings, and their implications. This person will not be required to write or make final sway on legal agreements, but they will be expected to interpret them, weigh in on their contents, and recommend adjustments as necessary.

COVID-19 Vaccination Policy

As a tight-knit company where we have the utmost concern and care for our team members, Swiftly has adopted a mandatory COVID vaccination policy.

This policy will comply with all applicable laws and is based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local health authorities.

We will not require any candidates to be vaccinated in order to interview for our open positions, but all new hires at Swiftly will be required to share a copy of their vaccination certification or present documentation to request an exemption.
