Overview
Hi, we’re CompanyCam.
We create simple-to-use, visual-first communication and accountability tools for contractors. Imagine a B2B SaaS (business-to-business software-as-a-service) app that doesn’t look like garbage, built by a team of capable, laid-back people.
But don’t let the chill throw you off; we’re a fast-growing, product-led startup with big plans for the future.
The Role
We’re looking for an FP&A Manager skilled in financial modeling, planning, and analysis to join our Finance team! The FP&A Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining financial models and forecasts (including Revenue Recognition, OpEx, CapEx, Workforce Planning, Cash Flow, and others), identifying and analyzing business opportunities and initiatives, supporting and collaborating with business partners, and preparing the Annual Operating Plan, quarterly plan refreshes, and monthly forecast updates. This role reports to the Director of Strategic Finance and will work closely with our Accounting and Analytics teams to drive elite business outcomes.
What sets this role apart from other similar positions:
-
You’ll get the opportunity to shape the future of FP&A at CompanyCam – we’ve got some great stuff in place already, but we know we’re still maturing as a Finance function and you’ll get to influence and drive its growth.
-
You’ll dive deep into financial modeling in modern, top-of-the-line software (Pigment), getting your hands dirty building models for every part of the org in your efforts to create predictability, influence strategy, measure financial impacts, expose insights, dial in plans, and analyze risks and opportunities, gaining an intimate understanding of the entire business in the process.
-
You’ll be treated like an adult and given the ability to execute without unnecessary prodding – we despise micromanagement and focus on delivering results.
-
You’ll have an abundance of clean, centralized data to feed into your models (our Analytics team is *chef’s kiss*).
-
You’ll get continuous exposure to all of our executives and department leaders as the main FP&A “consultant” and point of contact for the entire business – you’ll get many moments in the spotlight in this high-visibility role.
-
You’ll get to work with some of the most talented and driven people out there, and have fun while doing it! We take our work seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously.
In this job you will…
-
Develop and own our connected three-statement financial forecast models to help monitor and drive strategic business decisions and identify opportunities to optimize performance.
-
Own financial planning and forecasting processes through each planning cycle.
-
Support and collaborate with business partners in the creation and evaluation of business cases, goals, and strategic initiatives.
-
Uncover and communicate insights and key drivers of performance and variances to financial plans, partnering with stakeholders to drive results .
-
Lead planning activities, including preparation and compilation of the annual operating plan (AOP), long range plan (LRP), quarterly plan refreshes, and monthly forecast updates.
-
Automate, streamline, and document finance and accounting processes.
-
Own preparation and delivery of internal and external financial reporting.
-
Support Finance and the CEO in preparing for any future fundraising events and M&A activities.
You must…
- Show up every day, taking the courage to do the difficult but necessary stuff.
- Grow up constantly: you’re OK working in an environment full of change. You take responsibility, love ownership, learn continuously, and have a growth mindset.
- Do good by treating your co-workers and customers the way you would like to be treated.
- Be technically savvy and hungry to learn the ins and outs of our platform quickly.
-
Be motivated, proactive, strategic, confident (not a jerk), and willing to get your hands dirty to deliver results.
-
Exhibit ownership, taking responsibility for your area of work and taking pride in the accuracy of your output.
-
Have wicked financial modeling and forecasting skills (all three statements).
-
Have great communication skills, keeping business partners, stakeholders, your team, and your manager in the loop.
-
Have the ability to identify and prioritize team goals, and understand how to execute said goals with minimal direction.
-
Be resourceful – you know how to use the resources available to you to figure things out on the fly.
-
Have an analytical mindset and a desire to learn and grow.
-
Have strong quantitative skills and an attention to detail.
-
Be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and without supervision.
-
Reside permanently and currently in the U.S. Sorry, we’re not hiring outside the U.S. at this time even if you’re willing to work during U.S. time zones.
It’d be nice if you…
-
Have experience working for a B2B SaaS company.
-
Have experience managing analysts (we’re expecting to expand the team in the next 6-12 months).
-
Have experience with BI tools and SQL.
-
Have 4-7 years of relevant experience in FP&A.
-
Have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting, or a degree supplemented with a Finance focus.
