Are you curious, organized, and exceptional at conveying complex knowledge in a clear and concise manner?  We need your knowledge engineering skills to help us leverage our growing body of technical information to deliver exceptional products to our restaurant customers.

Reporting to the Director, Engineering Effectiveness,  you will guide us in our mission to be transparent, effective, and collaborative communicators.  You will support multiple engineering groups by proposing and implementing a taxonomy for our engineering knowledge, as well as building the team that implements the solution and improves the quality and delivery of content.

What You’ll Do

    • Champion the vision, success metrics, and roadmap for our Engineering Knowledge Management team and ensure it aligns with our corporate knowledge strategy, as well as Engineering goals
    • Recruit and develop a team of knowledge management professionals, with accountability for the quality and scope of deliverables, which will include:
    • Templates and contribution guidelines for various mediums
    • Organization and curation of wiki content so that it is discoverable, accessible, consistent, and up-to-date
    • Enhance knowledge with visual content for greater impact
    • Collaborate with engineering stakeholders to analyze knowledge needs and articulate our ontology, as well as delivery mediums
    • Optimize internal delivery and consumption of critical engineering content, with transparency and knowledge sharing as guiding principles
    • Request, edit, and publish content for our public-facing engineering blog
    • Participate in larger enterprise programs connected to Knowledge Management
    • Look for, initiate, and develop new initiatives or innovations for Engineering Knowledge Management
    • Work closely with engineering leaders to provide radical accountability, secure support, and direction, and problem solve on EKM topics
    • Nurture processes and working model between EKM and Learning and Development teams to ensure alignment of content

What We’ll Expect From You

    • Hands-on experience coordinating technical knowledge management strategy and programs
    • A passion to create discernible order and structure in crowd-sourced technical content
    • A proven ability to articulate problems and develop solutions to specific knowledge engineering challenges faced by technical authors
    • Experience growing and mentoring a team to exceptional outcomes
    • Experience developing and delivering guidelines for technical content to a wide variety of skill levels
    • Experience working closely with software developers, engineering managers and directors, product managers, and quality engineers delivering software in an agile environment
    • Engagement in professional knowledge management organizations and forums
    • Previous technical writing and editing contributory experience
    • Library and Information Systems educational background preferred
    • Experience with wiki platforms such as Confluence and/or Guru
