Tessitura is a nonprofit company dedicated to helping arts and cultural organizations thrive.

CRM lies at the heart of our mission and our technology platform. With Tessitura in their toolkit, organizations can achieve their goals with ease.

The Tessitura community includes over 750 cultural institutions in ten countries. Our staff provide 24/7 support and offer guidance to grow revenue and build lifelong engagement.

Job Summary:

The Tessitura Center for Professional Development offers online courses to develop foundational knowledge and skills using the Tessitura Software. Fundamental Ticketing and Fundamental Fundraising teach students to manage, update and harness an organization’s existing Tessitura environment, while gaining critical skills to support a diverse set of operations.

The adjunct instructor for these courses will provide timely grading of and feedback on student work submitted through the TCPD Central Learning Hub and performed in individual student Tessitura databases. In addition, the adjunct instructor will be available during business hours to answer student questions and to assist students to resolve conceptual or technical issues that are preventing them from progressing through the course.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge of and/or have a proven record of working successfully with the Tessitura Software in either a Ticketing, Fundraising, System Administration role, or any combination of these roles. Experience teaching or training, and aptitude for learning and working with technical applications, such as a learning management system and cloud databases is helpful.

Fundamental courses run every month, excluding January and December. Courses start on the first Monday of each month and run for three weeks, with the option to extend into a fourth week when needed for a student to complete the course.

The time commitment for 10 students is approximately 30 hours per course, which will decrease when assigned fewer than 10 students. Adjunct instructors can expect to spend about 10 hours per week for 3 weeks of grading, answering questions, or resolving issues. If students are granted an extension, then the total grading time would extend over four weeks versus three.

At this time, we are not interviewing candidates who are employed full-time at a Tessitura Network member organization.

The Hiring Manager for this position will be temporarily on leave. We are accepting applications now and will be review applicants beginning in February.

Adjunct Instructor Responsibilities:

  • Grading and responding to student questions in a timely manner (during the business day, or by noon on the next business day when submitted after hours or on the weekend)
  • Troubleshooting database connection issues
  • Resolving Tessitura application errors or student configuration errors that prevent the student from progressing through the course
  • Other Duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Tessitura Software in the area of study (Ticketing or Fundraising)
  • Experience managing, updating and using the Tessitura Software in the area of study
  • Skill troubleshooting Tessitura configuration issues in the area of study
  • Detail oriented and responsible

Preferred Skills and Experience

  •   Experience teaching or training adult learners
  • Experience with a Learning Management System; Moodle preferred
